It usually occurs for the first time in childhood and fortunately disappears in up to 85% of cases by the age of 4. In some patients, however, it continues into adulthood, and these patients often also suffer from <strong>hay fever<\/strong> or <strong>asthma<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<p>Atopic dermatitis is based on a <strong>genetically determined and inadequate ability<\/strong> to store moisture in the skin. The result: <strong>chronically <\/strong><strong>dry skin<\/strong>. This in turn causes <strong>the skin to itch<\/strong>.
