injuries of any kind.<\/p>\n<p>This means that the healing of wounds after operations, inflammations, injuries and burns can only take place through the formation of scar tissue &#8211; a vital process in our body!<\/p>\n<p>But what if the scar leaves a retracted area of skin, as is typically the case after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hautsachegut.at\/en\/acne-vulgaris\/\">acne<\/a> on the face? Or is it itchy &#8211; as a reaction to the suture material after an operation, for example? <br \/>Or is it painful because the scar itself is thick and hardened? Sometimes even restricting function, as scar tissue is basically inferior tissue and does not stretch well &#8211; for example, if localized on the knee or elbow &#8211; where great skin mobility is desired? Mostly as a result of severe forms of acne or injuries. <\/p>\n<p>Then there is &#8211; fortunately less common &#8211; the particularly severe form of scarring: <strong>the keloid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Not only does this lead to enlarged and thickened scarring, the scar itself actively and uncontrollably grows beyond the original site into the surrounding healthy tissue &#8211; and in some cases without any underlying injury!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-8716dc8 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"8716dc8\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-background-overlay\"><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-18b6ffb\" data-id=\"18b6ffb\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-faff01f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"faff01f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Scarring and its characteristics  <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ff9dabd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ff9dabd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>As a result, such scars can not only be cosmetically unpleasant, but can also lead to functional impairment of a nearby joint! Genetic predisposition and a dark skin type play a major role here. The influence of hormones is also important here.  <\/p>\n<p>However, one of the main reasons for scarring is skin tension: the greater the tension on the scar tissue, the larger the scar later on! This means that the more tension on the wound edges is prevented &#8211; especially after surgery &#8211; the better the result and the smaller the scar. Self-adhesive silicone pads are clearly recommended here (the silicone itself is not important here, it is much more about sealing the scar tissue (occlusive effect) so that the skin does not dry out too much and remains supple. <\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li class=\"elementor-icon-list-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-icon\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<i aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"fas fa-circle\"><\/i>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-icon-list-text\">Special scar creams containing silicone or extracts from onion skin can also reduce scarring in the form of massaging movements. However, this must be done 2-3 times a day and over many months! <\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3d94ebd elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"3d94ebd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In the case of known &#8220;bad&#8221; scarring or an existing scar, a visit to a specialist is recommended (it is worth taking a close look here, as not every <a href=\"https:\/\/hautsachegut.at\/leistung\/dehnungstreifen-und-narben-entfernen-.php\">dermatologist specializes in scars<\/a>), whereby the scar tissue can be flattened by injecting, and the redness is also significantly reduced.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, state-of-the-art laser therapy (fractional CO2 laser) is ideal for smoothing acne scars on the face &#8211; in the form of several sessions and thus achieving a truly miraculous effect!<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Scar therapy Treatment of acne scars, surgical scars, burn scars and keloids What are scars and why do they occur?
